Help For the Hard Times is a team I formed in 2001. I wanted to give back to the community and felt that donating my time as a team captain and in fundraising efforts was a good first step.

Help For the Hard Times is new to Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. It has focused its efforts over the past years with Lifelong Aids Alliance and Diabetes Association – two organizations which are near and dear to my heart. First because I used to work with HIV victims through an advocacy program when I was a teenager. Second, because my father lived life with Diabetes and passed away from complications in 2007.

I am blessed to have friends and family who have participated in fundraising efforts and have attended the walks for these two organizations since the beginning. I look forward to this tradition being carried over to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
