Turn the Water Off

Jayme Tip: Do not let the sink faucet run during your daily bathroom routine!

Running water wastes our most precious resource. It’s easy to save water by making small changes to your bathroom routine. Become friends with the drain stop and use your sink as it was intended. Pour in some water to wash your hands and face or to shave. Do not run the faucet when brushing your teeth—use a cup of water instead. Any of these simple ideas can save as much as one gallon of water a minute. Be sure to check that your drain stop is actually keeping water in the basin, as a leaky plug will waste water as well.
