Second Nature is proud to be part of the Steering Committee for the Green Access Home at Suncadia, a Sustainable Preserve in the Pines. This showcase Built Green demonstration project is a 2,000 square foot family contemporary mountain cabin taking full advantage of the abundant sunshine and views.

This home features full universal accessibility and is designed to be enjoyed by friends and family, with entertaining centered on cooking, visiting, and outdoor activities. The house is in-touch with nature, blurring the lines between indoors and outdoors; and emphasizes affordable and cost-effective sustainability that has been seamlessly integrated into the design.

Some of the Key Green Attributes:

  • Deep green integrated with universal design
  • Focus on affordability
  • One-story home utilizes local, salvaged, durable and non-toxic materials, passive solar plus green energy systems and technologies
  • Limited site disturbance, pervious pavers and native landscaping
  • Ultra-low VOC levels including environmentally friendly paints, caulking and sealants for all indoor components of the home
  • Energy efficient insulation, windows and heating system
  • Energy Star appliances

Jayme (Mattson) Carleton was proud to be a builder partner and part of the steering committee for the award winning Urban Lodge. This showcase home was featured in the 2007 Seattle Street of Dreams. On Monday, March 3, 2008, this home was destroyed due to arson.

This home received a 5-Star Built Green certification through the Built Green Program of King and Snohomish Counties, Gold Level Verified through the NAHB Green Home Building Guildelines and was Third party verified.

This custom, environmental-friendly mountain lodge-style home highlights the fiscal benefits, as well as the environmental and health benefits, of utilizing “green” materials and building techniques. The Built Green™ Home at Suncadia demonstrates that a spectacular, custom-built home, complete with the finest craftsmanship, can provide value through sustainable, earth-friendly building.

This home received a 5-Star Built Green certification through the Built Green Program of King and Snohomish Counties, Platinum level certification through the Central Washington Built Green Association and was Third party verified.
